Frequently Asked Questions

How does it all work?

You can sign-up at this temporary link: Signup. After you have created your account we will verify your profile, we do this daily (on workdays).

After your account has been verified you can upload images to go with your profile. Your pictures wil also be checked by our team, after the check you can use them in your profile. Now you have the choice which picture will be your primary. Select that one by setting the green checkbox underneath it. Your account is now ready to use.

What obligations do I have?

Performers are not employees of Privatecams, but work on a independent basis. You can work whenever you like, no obligations. Visitors have certain desires and expectations, but it is up to you to decide how far you`ll go. Do pay mind not to promise things in your profile that you cannot/willnot deliver on.

You are not obliged to have your face on camera. We dont require a certain look or physique and we dont have requirements for the hours you work.

Should you find that performing doesnt appeal to you, you can stop at any time. Please contact our helpdesk so we can deactivate your profile.

What do I need to be able to work as a performer?

Our system is designed in a way so you dont have to install complex software. You can login from any computer in the world.

Apart from a pc you obviously need a webcam. Please ensure that you have a relatively good quality webcam. Cheap webcams tend to send out bad quality video, especially in darker rooms. We suggest you use a webcam with so called CCD-lens, for example the Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000. You can of course decide to use a digital videocamera.

Finally you wil need a broadband internet-connection at your disposal (DSL/cable). An adequate upload-capacity is especially important. You can check your upload speed at the following website: www.speedtest.net. For a smooth experience your upload speed should be atleast 75 KB/s.

Am I pretty/handsome enough?

If you think our visitors only like to see pretty young blondes you are mistaken. What excites our customers is the idea that your are a regular person who could be living down the road. The interactivity; the options to chat and ask direct questions, are what has made Privatecams into a success.

Why has my account been rejected?

There are several different reasons why an account could be rejected:

  1. You have entered incorrect or incomplete information in your account
  2. Your have skipped editing your profile-text or it is incomplete. Text like "XXX" or "Ill fill this in later" will be rejected.
  3. Your nickname is misleading, for example: "frenchgirl", while you don`t know the French language.
  4. You have been blacklisted by our services, or on a competing-platform (Enjoy, Cashmaster, Islive etc).
  5. Your profile has disagreeable or offensive text or links to illegal content.
  6. Your nickname or texts suggest the presence of illegal content.

Why has my picture been rejected?

There are several different reasons why an image could be rejected:

  1. The size of the image you're trying to upload might be too small. We down-scale most of the images on the site on the fly. We use larger stored images for this purpose.
  2. Your image contains (visible) watermarks or urls (web-addresses). We do not allow references to external sources.
  3. The EXIF-data of your image states that the image has been copyrighted by another party.
  4. The image has been edited in such a way that it isn't a natural portrait anymore.
  5. The image (also) depicts minors and/or pets.
  6. The image shows violence or is in someway distasteful.
  7. The image suggests illegal content or conduct on your account.
  8. The image is not a (credible) portrait of the performer.

Earnings and Payment:

How much do I earn while working as a performer?

Payments are made monthly within 15 days after the end of the month. So earnings from Januari wil be paid by Februari 15th. Your earnings are as follows:

  1. 0,20 € / generated minute from the Netherlands
  2. 0,25 € / generated minute from Belgium

What do I have todo to receive payment?

Before we can pay you we need a signed performer-contract and a copy of your id-card or passport.

You also need to earn over a minimum amount. For Dutch performers its 10€, outside the Netherlands its 25€. Incase you don't earn over the minimum the payment will be postponed until next month's payments go out.

Finally it is essential that with every step we have correct and complete information. Please double-check the following fields for errors: name, address, bank-accountnr, IBAN, BIC, SWIFT (outside of the Netherlands), accountholder-name, city of the bank. Incorrect or incomplete data in the aforementioned fields can lead to refusal or cancellation of payment by your bank.

Pay mind to enter your first name first and surname second. This also applies to the bank account-holders name, otherwise the bank might not be able to process your payment.

How can I submit my earnings to the taxagency?

The contract states under section 7: "The performer is tasked with the transfer of income-tax and/or social contributions." Dutch performers, who are not registered as a company in the trade-register, should also request a Declaration of Work Relation (nl: Verklaring Arbeids Relatie) (VAR) at the Dutch Taxation Agency (Belastingdienst).

Belgian performers don't receive a "fiche 281.50" for income in the last year. Our credit reports serve as basis for income for tax return of personal- or business-tax.

The way in which you file your income my vary on your personal-situation: type of tax, social plan, occasional or frequent activity, size of yearly-earnings, comparison to other earnings etc. Incase the process of filing your tax-return is unclear, we suggest contacting a tax-consultant or bookkeeper.

Incase your earnings are substantial and/or the frequency of your activities is high, we suggest contacting a bookkeeper, fiscal-advisor or specialized website. They can give you advice on how to best organize your webcam-activities in a small business or joint venture.

Don't be fooled by other sites which don't mention taxes of falsely state they operate tax-free. No company can simply ignore these costs in their bookkeeping. When they say they operate tax-free, thy are most likely taking finacial risks on your behalf. Even foreign companies (operating here) are bound by our laws. The presumption that tax-collectors have no knowledge on income from another country, doesnt apply to the EU anymore (and countries like the Netherlands and Belgium especially).
